Order of the Bernardo O’Higgins in the degree

His Excellency Cristian Barros, Ambassador of Chile to Bangladesh resident in New Delhi, on behalf of the Government of Chile, bestowed upon Hon. Asif A Chowdhury, Honorary Consul for Chile in BANGLADESH, the Order of the Bernardo O’Higgins in the degree of Commander Class, on 26th February 2014, in a simple ceremony at a local hotel in Dhaka during the 204th Chilean independence day celebration.

Past recipients of the order include Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Senator Richard E. Lugar, Yoko Ono, George Soros, Simon Wiesenthal, and Actor Christopher Reeve. Mr. Asif A Chowdhury is the first Bangladeshi to get this award.
